Accidental hippies with accidental host Ergin, second from
left.
Four friends set out from Spain in a camper en route to India
but because of the coronavirus outbreak, they got stuck in
Turkey. Swiss Mirjam Ellenbroek (34), Spaniard Laura
Nunez (30) and Argentinian brothers Juan (31) and Fermin
(33) Tellechea, are currently living in a wooden house in
Artvin, in extreme northeastern Anatolia.
When the group couldn't leave Turkey they drove their
camper to the Black Sea region and with the help of a friend
in France, the four got in touch with Süleyman Ergin, an
architect in Artvin. After staying in Giresun for a 14-day
quarantine period, the four friends settled into an old
wooden house left to Ergin by his grandfather in Erenler
village, Artvin.
Other duties, as assigned.
The friends have a music group called 'Tango Maluco' and
they play their music and sing in the evenings, after working
in the field during the day. They have been in Turkey for
five months and have learned to sing regional songs in
Turkish, Laz and Georgian.
Erenler villagers are very fond of the four friends, who
plan to leave the village once the border crossing is
opened.
