In Sarıçam district of Adana province on the night of 28 May, Erkan
Ağuş (21), Ali Kılıç (23) and Ulaş Göl (23) went out for a drive. They
called Muhammed Emin Beyazgeyik (17), to whom they owed 3,500 TL
(about $100), and told him "come, we'll pay you back the money we owe
you."
Shortly thereafter, Beyazgeyik came and got into their car. After driving
around for a while an argument erupted and Ağuş shot Beyazgeyik, who
was sitting in the back seat of the car, in the chest, stomach and leg.
Realizing that Beyazgeyik had died, the three headed for Hocalı village
about 20 kilometers away. There in a forest, they threw the dead body in
bushes and fled.
Police were alerted (somehow (!)) to the situation and determined that
the three were hiding out in the village. A police raid on a village house
on 31 May resulted in the capture of all three. They confessed to the
murder and have been jailed.
