The 'Pudgy & Cudi Show'
Mehmet Aydın, nicknamed 'tosuncuk' (pudgy), defrauded 132,222
investors in his 'Çiftlik Bank' (farm bank) Ponzi scheme out of 1 billion
139 million TL (about $150 million) and fled Turkey. All of the assets
of all the companies involved in the scheme have been seized, along
with all the remaining money, by Turkish prosecutors.
Now, the 'Çiftlik Bank' software and programming guru Cudi Cumhur
Yurdakul, taking advantage of legal remedies available to him for
'declaring regret', has made some startling revelations about Aydın's
illegal affairs.
Sabah has seen some of this shocking information in the case file,
including Yurdakul's assertion that Aydın engaged in the drug trade
with his money and also prepared an assassination plan against one
Bekir K., an enemy in Bursa, although the 'hit' never came to fruition
even though Aydın sent money to a 'hit-man' via his right-hand man
Suat Emir.
With regard to drugs, Aydın figured he could make big money by
investing in the production of methamphetamine, which an individual
named Necip G., of Bursa's İnegöl district, said he could do. So Aydın
gave more than 200 million TL (about $30 million) to Necip G., who
then imported 'Actifet' and 'Cirius' chemicals from China. However,
shortly after Necip G. began producing methamphetamine, police
raided his workshop, where Necip G.'s father-in-law was arrested.
Necip G. fled Turkey.
A 'red bulletin' warrant has been issued for Aydın, who remains at
large. After escaping to Argentina and Uruguay with Aydın,
Yurdakul returned to Turkey and was released from custody on 4 July
2019 along with all other suspects.
You didn't think this wouldn't happen, did you?
