Happily counting their loot...
In Adana on the morning of 15 August, Syrians Asad A. (23)
and Abdulaziz E. (19) stormed the jewelry store of Abdullah
Damlakhı (27) with guns and made off with lots of gold after
shooting two store employees in their feet (!).
Police looked at about 900 hours of video and succeeded in
identifying the bandits, who had hidden in a field from where the
heist's mastermind Emrullah D. (20) picked them up and took
them to a home in the Yüreğir district of the city. The thieves
exchanged their stolen gold for cash at a jewelry store and
then fled to Osmaniye.
They purchased a car in Osmaniye, but police learned about
it, stopped the car and had the three suspects, along with Hamid
H. (28) prostrate themselves on the ground while they were
handcuffed behind their backs.
Unhappily lying face down, back-handcuffed.
In an examination of the suspects' cellphones, police found
videos they'd taken of themselves happily counting the money
and congratulating each other on the caper's success. Three
suspects were jailed and Hamid H. was released on judicial
supervision.
