Captain is not going down with this ship.
In Zonguldak's Ereğli district, a brand new 30-meter yacht built
at the Med Yılmaz shipyard sank 15 minutes after setting out on
its maiden voyage (!). The yacht was built over five months at a
cost of about $100,000 and named "Dolce Vento" (Sweet Wind).
On board were an Istanbul businessman who owns the now-
sunken yacht, the captain and two crewmembers, all of whom
abandoned the sinking vessel and swam safely to shore in the
calm sea. The sinking was attributed to a design flaw
concerning the distribution of weight in the craft.
