An English youth who came to Izmir to make up with the
Turkish girlfriend he met on Facebook was stabbed. Thomas
Archer (27) went to the hospital in Buca, saying that he did
not know his attacker. Police first noticed that the youth's
tee shirt was not ripped. Also, no trace of blood was found
at the scene of the incident but a bloody knife was found in a
vacant lot.
Police determined that Archer had bought the knife at a
shopping center. After his lie was exposed Archer confessed
that he had stabbed himself to attract his girlfriend's attention.
