Chivalry Takes a Beating

             No good deed goes unpunished.

In Gebze district of Kocaeli province, A.Ş. saw someone sexually
harassing a young woman on the street and went to the woman's aid.
However, other onlookers thought that it was A.Ş. who was sexually
harassing the woman and they began to beat A.Ş. (!) 

The young woman tried to get the attackers to desist, screaming
"he saved me from the harasser! He's blameless, leave him alone!"
Nevertheless, one of the attackers stuck a broken bottle into A.Ş.'s
back.  A shopkeeper heard the woman's cries, ran to the scene and
rescued A.Ş. from the attackers.

Police arrived at the scene and A.Ş. was taken to Gebze Fatih
State Hospital for treatment, but his condition remains serious.
After taking the young woman's statement, police began to look
for the real harasser and the person who injured A.Ş. with the
broken bottle.
