Romeo Threw Plums, Juliet Wanted Cucumbers and Eggplants

H.F. (a.k.a Juliet) prefers cucumbers & eggplants to plums.

H.F. (22) works at a private hospital in Ataşehir, Istanbul, and she
lives in a hospital dormitory there.  For a month H.F. kept finding
fruit and vegetables wrapped in papers with sexual messages written
on them that had been thrown onto her balcony. (!)  Hakan Erdağlı
(41) (a.k.a. Romeo) was arrested and his sentence has been set.

Police determined that Erdağlı, who lives below H.F. in the same
building with his wife and child, threw the sexually explicit notes
onto H.F.'s balcony.  In his statement to police Erdağlı stated that
"on 26 August 2017, I went to Ankara where I left my wife and
child and then returned to Istanbul the next day.  I didn't write
those things.  I have had no contact with and feel no enmity toward
the complainant.  I'm just a guy who goes back and forth to work
every day. I don't have anything to do with anyone's honor or
sexuality."  Nevertheless, after giving his statement, Erdağlı was
arrested for 'sexual harassment'.

each other beforehand...

Erdağlı now faces a jail sentence of from 1 year 1.5 months to 9
years, based on complaints for 'sexual harassment' filed against
him by four individuals.  At the latest court hearing, Erdağlı
admitted his guilt, after having previously denied it.  In his
own defense, Erdağlı asserted that "there are three women living
above me as neighbors.  The messages I wrote were not intended
for any one of them in particular. I wrote them for all of them."
The judge sentences Erdağlı to 6 years, 1 month and 15 days in
jail but, in light of Erdağlı's confession and regret, the judge
reduced the sentence to 5 years, 1 month and 3 days. (!)

As for H.F., she had filed the charges with Ataşehir police on
31 August 2017, stating that "in the latest episode, today at
01:30 while I was sitting on my balcony with roommates G.T.
and D.G., along with my older sister C.F. who was visiting,
two notes wrapped around a plum were thrown onto the
balcony.  On a napkin was written "come on, let's make love"
(or something to that effect).  We joked among ourselves that
'these notes are always wrapped around plums.  If they were
cucumbers or eggplants they might do us some good.' Right
away, a cucumber and an eggplant were thrown onto the
balcony." (!!).
