The elusive, prospective Mrs. Ü.S.
After his divorce, rather than live alone engineer Ü.S. wanted to find
a new friend to share his time with. So he turned to the marriage
website "www.russiancupid.com" (!) and became a member.
In March 2019, Ü.S. met "Hoşgün", whose real name is Dzhoshkun
Sezgin Hyusein (28), through the website. "Hoşgün" told Ü.S. that
she lost her parents in the Bosnia war; that she was now living with
her aunt in Macedonia; and that her brother-in-law wanted to market
her ("Hosgün") to other men to pay off his gambling debts.
"Hoşgün" convinced Ü.S., who had divorced a year earlier, that she
loved him and wanted to marry him. The lovesick Ü.S. invited
"Hoşgün" to come to Istanbul but she claimed to have no money to
pay for the trip. In addition, "Hoşgün", who kept putting off the trip
to Istanbul, told Ü.S. that she needed money for insurance, her aunt's
credit debt and to claim her inheritance in Bosnia.
Growing weary of sending "Hoşgün" money, Ü.S. decided to go get
her and bring her to Istanbul. However (!), "Hoşgün" warned him
not to come, saying that "my brother-in-law will kill us both!" She
assured Ü.S. that she was on her way but needed money from Ü.S. to
pay for a 3-day stay at the airport hotel.
Ü.S.
Thinking that "Hoşgün" would arrive in Istanbul shortly, Ü.S. went
to the airport to wait for her but he became concerned after waiting
quite a while without any word from her. Finallay, someone (!)
called Ü.S. from Romania, saying that "Hoşgün" was stuck in airport
security and needed money for a lawyer.
After having sent "Hoşgün" a total of 38,000 Euros, Ü.S. came to the
conclusion that he was being bilked so he had his lawyer İlker Atamer
file a criminal complaint with the Istanbul public prosecutor. Atamer
stated in the complaint that Ü.S. had been hoodwinked by an organized
gang. (ya think?)
