Snake charmer.
Antalya police put K.E. and his 11-person gang under surveillance for
crimes ranging from loan-sharking, armed threatening and promissory
note transfer under duress. As the result of simultaneous raids in
Antalya, Ankara, Erzuru and Siirt on 25 September, K.E. and his gang
were taken into custody.
A search of the suspects' residence yielded a 3-million TL promissory
note, weapons, cutter and a slicing tool (!). In addition, in a special
cage in K.E.'s office there was a two-meter long python snake that
K.E. used to 'persuade' reluctant customers. The python was sent to
the Antalya Zoo.
A businessman victim of K.E. explained that "they wanted me to
sign a promissory note under duress but when I refused they put the
python around my neck (!). As the creature roamed around my neck
and arms I decided to sign."
"Who's next, boss?"
