Shipboard romance.
The Besiktas-Kadikoy ferry was the scene of a
surprise marriage proposal on 8 March, World
Women's Day. Tugce Ozdemir boarded the ferry
at the Besiktas pier and sat in the rear section.
Sitting among the passengers were musicians
who began to play and sing Kenan Dogulu's
"Yuzsuz Yurek" (Shameless Heart) song.
As the song ended a banner was unfurled that
read: "My Princess, Will You Marry Me?". Ozkan
Taskin then went down on one knee with a bouquet
of roses in his hand and asked Tugce to marry him.
A flustured Tugce assented and said "Yes!".
Saying she was very happy, Tugce added "I didn't
expecet anything like this. He said many times that
he wanted to marry me but this was the best way
to do it."
