COVID contact-tracing teams have once again seen how cases spread
because of indifference to precautions. In the eastern Black Sea
region, a doctor shared a story on Twitter about three families who
met to prepare pickles and ended up spreading COVID to a great
number of others.
The three families decided to pickle cabbage and beans "to strengthen
our immunity", doing so alongside the village elders. Those the
families came in contact with were tested for COVID and 21 of them
came out 'positive'.
The male version of an "üfürükçü". Wear a face
visor.
In another incident, an 80-year-old blind and bedridden man was
brought to the hospital and tested 'positive' for COVID, which
surprised everyone because he had not left his house and
supposedly had had no visitors.
However (!), it came to light that when his condition worsened, an
old woman "üfürükçü" (someone who claims to cure the sick by
breathing on them!), who had come to the village, was summoned
for the elderly man. The "üfürükçü" infected a total of 136 people,
120 of whom she had had direct contact with. In total, 280 people
were quarantined in 3 villages because of the "üfürükçü".
In early September, after a wedding the groom's father tested
'positive' for COVID. Contact-tracing revealed that 178 people
from 14 different locales had come in contact with the father
and 53 of them tested 'positive'.
