the reality of the COVID pandemic.

The black border says it all.

Kemal Uçkun (57), the Religious Affairs Attaché at the Turkish
Embassy in  Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, caught coronavirus and died on
7 July.  His  wife Güzide Uçkun, claiming neglect in her husband's
treatment, has filed a criminal complaint with the public prosecutor
against officials of the Turkish Foreign Ministry and the Office of
Religious Affairs.

Güzide hanım explained that as Kemal bey's condition worsened she
repeatedly asked the Turkish Ambassador in Ashgabat and Religious
Affairs to have "my husband urgently brought back to Turkey either
by air-ambulance or some other way.  I insisted on this every day until
he died but neither the embassy nor the Religious Affairs and Health
Ministries did anything in response.  His life became entangled in
the bureaucracy.  Finally, they sent an air-ambulance 60 hours after
he died to bring his body back to Turkey."  (!)

Güzide hanım's lawyer Ahmet Başçı filed her complaint with the
prosecutor, alleging that negligence by Health Ministry Emergency
Health Services chief Dr. Semih Korkut, Turkish Ambassador in
Ashgabat Togan Oral and Selim Argun and Erdal Atalay of the
Religious Affairs Office caused Kemal bey's death.
