"Good news from Professor for Black Sea people: your noses
will be like Africans!"
Prof. Dr. Mikdat Kadıoğlu, an meteorology engineering academician
in Istanbul Technical University's Airplane and Space Sciences Faculty,
has said that climate change has an effect of human physiology. At a
conference in Trabzon about the effects of climate change on the
Eastern Black Sea and its agriculture, Dr. Kadıoğlu stated the following:
"In addition to causing environmental catastrophes, climate change can
also effect human physiology. The long noses of Black Sea people are
the resut of the region's cold and humid weather. The function of the
nose is to bring air into the lungs so, in the case of the Black Sea, this
means having a nose long enough to accomplish this, in light of the
region's cold and humidity. As temperatures rise, long noses will
shrink." (!)
"Just like as in Africa, where humans' noses have gradually shrunk
because the external temperature is very near to the body's
temperature. So it's not necessary to take in more air to warm the
body. This is good news for Black Sea people since their noses
will shrink and become more regular." (!)
The Black Sea region's plastic surgeons have made the prof.
their number one enemy.
