Perhaps the only eyewitness.
People who went to get water from a fountain at Bahçköy Hunca, in
Belgrad Forest, Sarıyer, Istanbul, the day before yesterday at about
2 o'clock in the afternoon noticed this hand-written note on a garbage
can: "there's a body down the hill" (!).
Police were summoned and found the unrecognizable body of a male
below a cliff. In order to recover the body from the rough terrain,
firefighters were called and after two hours the body was brought
up to the road and sent to the police forensic lab for an autopsy and
possible identification.
Dilek Sönmez, who alerted police initially, stated that "we came to
get water and saw the note that read 'there's a body down the hill.'
We alerted the police and they came. We didn't see anything related
to the incident except the note."
