'Ayaz' is a seeing-eye dog once again.
In Mardin, the municipality's Street Animals Rehabilitation Center got
a report about a dog walking oddly in Artuklu district. The dog was
brought to the center where Nurettin Bozdağ determined that the
6-7-year-old animal couldn't see properly and that cataracts were the
problem.
So eye doctors Gülistan Oyur, Leyla Hazar and Şule Barman Kakil,
with the help of veterinarians, operated on 'Ayaz' (Frost) as the dog
was named, and successfully placed lenses in both its eyes. 'Ayaz'
is now seeing well and has fully recovered from the ordeal.

In Trabzon, teacher Necmi Aksu went on a nature hike with a group
of friends to Zigana Mountain, where they noticed a German Shepherd
dog about to freeze to death. Aksu took the dog in his arms and carried
the animal 8 kilometers through the snow to the nearest road, from
where the dog was taken into the city. Veterinarians treated the dog
and adopted it. Aksu explained that "it weighed about 50 kilograms
but the thought of putting it down never crossed my mind."
