In the Karadere neighborhood of Adapazarı district of Sakarya
province, Bayram Cansever (54) wanted to protect his chicks from
a squirrel up in a nearby tree. Cansever asked his daughter to throw
him his rifle from the first-floor balcony and she did so. But when the
rifle butt hit the ground it fired a shot that killed Cansever and hit his
daughter in the face. Both were transported to Yenikent State Hospital,
where Cansevery was pronounced dead and his daughter put into
intensive care.

"Do you stop at the pet store, where all that good chow is?"
In Kayseri, Burak Gürler's small, mixed-breed dog 'Duman' (smoke)
disappeared on the night of 5 April. Gürler sought out Duman and
got word that on the morning of 6 April Duman boarded a city bus. (!)
Güler heard nothing more about Duman for 7 days, until last night
when he said that a caller told him that Duman got off at the SGK
(Social Security) stop and started following an SGK employee.
Duman stayed with this person in Hisarcık but when the man's
nephew saw the news report in the paper he told his uncle about it.
The uncle returned Duman but refused to accept the reward. Instead,
Güler invited him to dinner at the restaurant where he works as a chef.
