They married but were seldom merry.
Two years ago, cook Fatih Zencir (40) met English marketing director
Faiza Drid (43), who had come to Bodrum for a vacation. On 27 April
2017, Zencir made a romantic marriage proposal to Drid upon her
arrival at Bodrum's airport and she accepted.
However, the merriment (!) did not last long, with Zencir stabbing and
seriously injuring Drid in Bodrum's Bitez town three months later. After
intensive care in a Bodrum, Drid returned to England and Zencir was
sentenced to 7.5 years in jail.
Zencir escaped from his minimum security prison, though and began
living with his father in Izmir under the assumed name 'Yücel Çağlayan'.
Zencir opened social media accounts with his new name but local police
noticed and they opened an account on the same social media platform,
pretending to be owners of a cafeteria. In this disguise, police offered
Zencir/Çağlayan a job as a cook so he went to the address they
provided for an interview. There, Zencir was arrested and put back in
jail.
Ready to make merry in prison once again.
