Annie's got her gun.
In Antalya's Alanya district, Ozlem Taskesen (40) was living in a fishing
shack in the Okurcalar quarter, but the day before yesterday the shack
was demolished by the Alanya municipality, which declared it to be
an illegal structure.
Enraged, Ozlem hanim grabbed her "pompali tufek" (pump-action
rifle) and went gunning for A.Y. (49), whom she blamed for her shack's
demolition. Ozlem hanim shot A.Y. in the leg and M.U. was wounded
in his head from the crossfire. In addition, Ozlem hanim shot up a
car and coffeehouse belonging to S.U. (52).
Later, Ozlem hanim went to the Alanya Municipality Avsallar Extra
Services building and fired at the front door. She fled on her
motorcycle, got some gas at a gas station and then shot up an auto
repair shop. (!) After a chase, the Gendarmerie captured Ozlem hanim
and seized her "pompali tufek" and two knives.
Meanwhile, a health team arrived and took the injured individuals to
the hospital. A.Y. was said to be in critical condition. Ozlem hanim's
neighbors near her fishing shack said that she had set some fishing
boats on fire and cut fishing nets.
Until three years ago, she had been living in a fishing shack at
Manavgat and had similar problems, even biting a Gendarmerie soldier
on his arm. (!) At that time, Ozlem hanim was arrested but her jail
sentence was postponed. Then she moved to Alanya.
