In Antalya, Dr. Yusuf Onur Kaan Bozkurt (58) first shot his dietician
wife Gamze Kacar Bozkurt (38) to death and then turned the gun on
himself, committing suicide. The couple's bloody and lifeless bodies
were found by their daughter and her grandmother. The age difference
between husband and wife had sparked jealousy in Dr. Bozkurt of
late.
The incident occurred yesterday evening in the family's home on
the third floor of an apartment building in the Fabrikalar quarter of
Kepez district. The couple began arguing around noon, ending with
the murder-suicide. Their daughter returned home from kindergarten
in the evening but when no one opened the door she went to the flat
of her grandmother, Gamze hanim's mother Nurdan Kacar , across the
hall. With a spare key, Nurdan hanim opened the door to find the
couple dead on the floor.
