Feel free to complain - you're sure to get a response.
Three musicians in the Konya municipal 'mehter' (from Ottoman
times) band got into an argument with a town parks director
and complained to CİMER (President's hot/complaint line). The
three have been exiled to street cleaning duties. (!)
One of the musicians, a 'köbürgeci' (drummer), has 20 years of
service in the band, as does a 'nakkareci' (also a drummer). The
third exile has played the 'zurna' (pipe) in the band for 11 years.
During a performance, the three argued with R.D., the director
of the Kalehan-Ecdat Garden in Selçuk district of Konya. One
of the musicians, Uğur K., alleged that R.D. cursed at them and
tried to strike them, so they complained to CİMER.
After filing the complaint, the three musicians were sent to
the Konya Park and Gardens Directorate and replaced in the
band by KOMEK (Konya training cadre) students.
