When doctors don't see eye to eye...
Brain surgeon Dr. Yakup S. works at a private hospital in Bafra district
of Samsun province. The day before yesterday Dr. Yakup S. beat up
his colleague Dr. Hacı Bekir Genişer, a urologist, when the two argued
about an operation Dr. Genişer had performed on their mutual patient.
The incident occurred when Dr. Genişer had a patient he operated on
consult Dr. Yakup S. before discharging the patient from the hospital.
However, when Dr. Yakup S. asserted that the patient could have
recovered without Dr. Genişer's 'unnecessary' operation, the two
physicians argued and Dr. Yakup S. gave Dr. Genişer a black eye.
Dr. Genişer obtained a report exempting him from work for a week
because of his injuries. He also filed a criminal complaint against
Dr. Yakup S.
