In Kahramanmaraş, a fashion show was held at fire
department headquarters (!). A firefighter who used to be
a fashion designer (!) organized the fashion show, where
the models walked on a turquoise carpet spread out in
front of the fire trucks. Enough space was allocated in
front of the trucks in case they needed to respond to a
fire alarm.
Fashionista (ex-) Fire Chief Küçükönder
Images from the fashion show, which was attended by
Fire Chief Cahit Küçükönder, were quickly posted on
social media but the negative notoriety prompted
Kahramanmaraş Mayor Fatih Mehmet Erkoç to relieve
Küçükönder of his duty. Erkoş said that Küçükönder
had exceeded his authority by authorizing the fashion
show at the "critically strategic" fire station.
