Ekip otosunda tecavüze 10 yıl
He has his future to think about...not P.T.'s.

On 16 January 2018, a woman named P.T. (28) got out of a taxi in
Beylikdüzü, Istanbul, after coming from Taksim Square.  While
walking home, a police car with Serhat Ertuğrul (27) and R.Y. (27)
inside pulled up to P.T. and the officers offered to give her a ride
home.

At first, P.T. declined the ride but the police insisted so she got
in the police car.  After driving some distance, Ertuğrul hopped out
and got into the back seat with P.T.  and raped her.  Subsequently,
P.T. called 155 (911) and filed a complaint against the two
policemen.

In court in Bakırköy, Ertuğrul claimed that he did not have
intercourse with P.T., explaining that it was she who had held his
hand (!).  Ertuğrul added that "from my perspective, I didn't commit
this crime" and he requested acquittal.  As for R.Y., he told the
court that "there was no sexual intercourse, just kissing.  The day
of the incident was my second day partnering with Serhat Ertuğrul,
so as far as I was concerned, he was kind of like my boss.  I was
tounge-tied.  I couldn't do anything either way. I'm innocent."

Ultimately, the court ruled that Ertuğrul had, in fact, raped P.T.
and sentenced him to 12 years in jail.  However, the sentence was
reduced to 10 years for "good behavior" (!), taking into consideration
the effect the incident will have on Ertuğrul's future (!!).

R.Y. was acquitted of rape but sentenced to 5 months in jail for
failing to warn Ertuğrul that he was committing a crime. (!)
