                                         Going nuclear.

Kazakhstan is building a nucear weapons arsenal and is on the verge
of testing the weapons, according to former leader Nursultan Nazarbaev,
who made this statement in an exclusive interview with the Turkish
newspaper Milliyet yesterday. 

In the context of the 12th Astana Economic Forum, which began
yesterday in the Kazahk capital, Nazarbaev told Milliyet's Ecem Toplar
that "We have taken a position that is pro-peace.  We will  not be a
part of any nuclear war in the world but that does not mean that our
related efforts will not continue.  We are building a nuclear weapons
arsenal and we are in the testing stage."


                                      Excuse me?!
