Nice binlere!
Gettin' it done for the creatures' comfort.

AKUT volunteers (Arama Kurtarma Derneği/Search and Rescue
Association) are famous for saving thousands of people after
earthquakes, floods, fires, landslides, traffic accidents, mountain
and natural disasters and maritime incidents. But they don't just
save humans.

In 1999, a shepherd asked AKUT for help when his goats were
stranded on rocks in Antalya. After the successful rescue, AKUT
changed its mission statement to read "to extend a helping hand
to any living creature."

Since then AKUT has saved cows, lizards, turtles, dogs, foxes
wild pigs, sea gulls, goats, horses, dolphins and ducks and
returned them to their natural habitats.  A few days ago AKUT
rescued 4 goats stuck for 10 days on rocky ground in Marmaris.
This rescue raised the total of AKUT animal rescues beyond the
1,000 mark.

In 2015 U.S. experts came to Turkey to provide technical
training on animal rescues.  Since its inception AKUT has
conducted 2,238 operations and saved 2,382 human lives.

In Çorum's Alaca district, Müfit Gürses's 2,270 kilogram
bull (!) drew great interest. Gürses said the bull, named 'Şahin'
(hawk) was sold to an Ankara businessman but Gürses declined
to give the sale price. Gürses noted that "last year I raised a
2-ton animal but Şahin is 2,207 kilos."
