Yes, Minister!
In Japan, Deputy Housing Minsister Sunseke Mutai is on the brink
of resigning. Mutai was in charge of relief efforts in the aftermath
of the Lionrock hurricane that left 9 people dead. However, while
inspecting the scene in Ivaizuma city Mutai jumped on the back of
a ministry worker in order to get through some standing water.
It didn't help matters that Mutai had quite a pleased look on his face
during his ride and the photo made its way all over social media.
Some observers commented that Mutai "was using his office poorly
and harassing his workers." A signature campaign calling for Mutai's
resignation was started. For his part, Mutai rejected the accusations,
and said the back-ride was the worker's idea.

How the whole Matryoshka doll thing got started.
In Germany, a 48 million year old fossil of a snake that ate a lizard
that ate an insect has been found. The discovery was made in Messel
Hole, near an abandoned quarry close to Frankfurt. The lizard fossil
was found inside the snake fossil and an insect fossil was found inside
the lizard fossil.
According to National Geographic sources, it is not known whether
or not the snake was killed in the poisonous volcanic lake where the
fossils were found, although this was the way many flying and swimming
creatures died.
The finding is the second to show the diets of more than one creature
at once. Previously in Germany an amphibian that ate a fish was
found in the stomach of a fossil of a shark. Krister Smith, who is
analyzing the find at the Senckenber Institute in Germany, said this
is a once in a lifetime discovery.
Researchers also stated that despite the name Paleopython, these
snakes had no relation to today's pythons.
You just can't beat evolution.
