'Okey' - the chess of the coffeehouse.
In Ceyhan district of Adana, Mehmet Demir (64), the village
chief of Altıkara, was playing 'okey' with a group of friends
at a local coffeehouse when he showed the 'show piece' that
he drew.
I'm OK, you're OK (not!)
One of the players at the table, Talat Çelikel (45), objected to
Demir showing the piece. In a huff, Demir wanted to leave
the game, which prompted Çelikel to curse at Demir. A fight
ensued and Çelikel head-butted Demir, causing him to fall down.
From the floor, Demir drew a gun and shot Çelikel, killing him.
Demir was arrested.
//ed. note: mention of 'OK' prompted the TNT research staff to
look into the history of this curious 'word': The exclamation
OK is first recorded in the mid-19th century. It is most probably
an abbreviation of 'orl korrect', a humorous form of 'all correct',
which was popularized as a slogan during U.S. President
Martın Van Buren's re-election campaign in 1840. The initials
also represented his nickname Old Kinderhook, derived from
his birthplace, Kinderhook in New York state.//

Whoops!
Handicapped people had a hard time of it at the event arranged
for the Private Pınar Aynur Special Training and Rehabilitation
Center in Şarköy district of Tekirdağ province. The event was
held on the second floor of the municipal wedding hall but there
is no elevator in the building.
Handicapped participants in wheelchairs had to be carried up and
down the staircase, while those with canes had to be helped by
relatives. Similarly, when called to the stage, some of the award
winners had to be carried there. Nevertheless, participants
cheered heartily for all the handicapped participants.
