Turtles on Train Tracks Saved in Salihli

They're in a better place. Really, they are.
In Manisa's Salihli district, tens of turtles living alongside the
railroad line there had their habitat upset when the municipality
began some road work, so the turtles migrated onto the rails. (!)
The Salihli chapter of HAYKODER (animal-lovers)'s lawyer
Funda Canseven alerted local officials to the situation and
workers from the Nature Protection and National Parks
Salihli directorate rescued 73 turtles in danger of being crushed
by oncoming trains. The turtles were transferred to a safe place
near the Gümüş and Alaşehir streams.
